Founded in 1994, Probewell Lab Inc. designs, manufactures and sells high accuracy measurement instruments for the power utilities. The company has always kept close contact with its customers and prides itself in designing products with the end‑user in mind.
In 1996, Probewell Lab Inc. launched the first genuine light-weight, portable meter tester, the MT‑1. As new technology became available the MT‑1/NT was born in 2000. This tester offered the ability to test on site all common residential meters and quickly became a favourite among our customers, large or small.
Again, using cutting-edge technology, Probewell innovated in 2009 with a 3‑phase meter tester named MT‑1/NT3. This third-generation tester meets a need expressed by many of our customers: to field-test 3‑phase meters as easily and quickly as testing residential meters with our single-phase unit.
In 2011, Probewell rejuvenates its single-phase meter tester using the technology developed for the 3‑phase version. A new field-tester for residential meters is born with the name MT‑1/NT4.
We can sincerely say that our testers have changed the way utilities go about their everyday business such as handling high bill complaints, field sampling of meters or just any type of field meter testing.

Today, Probewell products are in use in utilities, large and small, in the United‑States, Canada, Mexico and other countries all over the world.
